EYEBROW LIFT WITH PDO THREADS. Procedure, recovery, side effects, cost of threads in Peterborough.

Updated: Feb 8, 2022

Eyebrow lift if using PDO thread (Mono and Double Screw) recovery time, side effect, cost of threads in Peterborough.

As we grow older, our skin begins to lose collagen which leads to loss of volume and firmness. The muscles start getting loose, less toned and bulk. The upper third of the face which includes the forehead and eyebrows begins to lose structural support and drop down. The eyebrows begin to sag and drop down.

The aging effect of the skin makes the skin not to spring back as it used to when you were much younger. Your facial tissues start to sag and you may begin to notice your eyebrows dropping down and losing the natural arch. Your eyebrows begin to create a sad and angry appearance even though you’re not sad or angry. Your eyebrows begin to move much closer to your eyes and you begin to lose your normal facial appearance.

Eyebrow lift using PDO threads is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure whereby PDO threads are used to lift and tighten the eyebrows and the part of the face above the eyes to remove wrinkles, brow lines, and correct saggy or drooping eyebrow.

Eyebrow lift using PDO threads is a non-surgical, minimally invasive alternative to the traditional surgical brow lift. It provides a more youthful facial appearance without leaving scars and with minimal downtime.

Eyebrow lift with PDO threads provides a lifting and regenerative effect. When the threads are inserted into the facial skin and lifted, they provide an immediate lifting effect. The lifting effect allows for more eye-to-brow space. It also stimulates the production of collagen which helps to regenerate the skin over time by increasing firmness, volume, and making the skin look younger.

Who is an ideal candidate for eyebrow lift

Ideal candidates for eyebrow lift are candidates with;

  • Sagging brows

  • Tired or angry facial appearance

  • Horizontal lines across the forehead

  • Deep furrows between the brows

  • Heavy upper lids

Candidates should have good skin laxity and with realistic expectations. For best results a course of skin cleansing and peeling along with skin biostimulation should be performed.

How is eyebrow lift with PDO threads done?

During the procedure, you will be made to lie down on your back with your head facing up. Your aesthetic practitioner will thoroughly cleanse the area and apply anesthetic on the treatment area to prevent pain and discomfort. After certain time required for the anesthetic cream to work, they will remove it and again wipe the area with eg. surgical spirit. Then the procedure starts: they insert the PDO threads into the layers of skin around the eyebrows with a sharp or blunt tip cannula or very thin needles. After the threads are inserted and anchored in the skin layers, they are left there to lift the eyebrow and tighten the skin. The needles or cannula are removed.

Recovery

After the procedure, it is common to experience bruising, swelling, and soreness which will normally resolve in a few days. You may apply ice to reduce the swelling and bruising, as well as Arnica after 1-2 days post treatment.

It normally takes about 2 weeks to heal. You must keep the area clean, ideally avoiding makeup for up to a week, or at least once the skin has healed. Avoid kissing and cuddling pets, and touching your skin with unwashed hands.

Immediately after the procedure you must start using a fresh pillow case as well as a face towel. This will decrease the risk of an infection.

Gently wash your face, avoiding harsh soaps for a min. 24 hours.

Do not apply any pressure on the treated area for 2-3 weeks to allow proper attachment process. Do not engage in exercises or any strenuous activities for 2-3 weeks. Avoid sauna, heated yoga, and extreme temperatures for 1 month.

Avoid all laser, RF, HIFU etc. on the treated area for 4 months because they melt the threads!

Keep to the directions of your aesthetic practitioner and keep to any follow-up appointments.

How long does the result of eyebrow lift using PDO threads last?

PDO threads are dissolvable over time. They normally dissolve in about 6 months. Even when the PDO threads have dissolved, they still have a lifting and regenerative effect on the skin. The result of the procedure can last from 18 to 24 months, however for best results a top up treatment is advised after 12 months and you should still look after your skin quality.
