MICRONEEDLING

A treatment that stimulates natural regenerative processes by puncturing with micro-needles.

If you want your skin to become taut, more elastic; wrinkles, pores and scars less visible, then the microneedle mesotherapy treatment is for you!

Does your skin need intensive regeneration?

It has been known for a long time that the body aims to regenerate any damage as much as possible. There are many factors involved in the process of wound healing. Micro-puncturing of the skin takes advantage of microtraumas that occur and the resulting inflammatory reactions.

The effects of
microneedle mesotherapy

Beauty Portrait

  • improves shallow acne scars and cavities,

  • improves skin density and quality,

  • increases its tension and elasticity,

  • reduces the visibility of pores and pigmentation,

  • brightens the skin,

  • stimulates collagen production.

What is microneedle mesotherapy? Dermapen, how does it work? Which one is better : dermapen or dermaroller?

Microneedling consists of forcing regenerative processes by stimulating the skin with micro-punctures. Micro-punctures can be performed in different ways:

  • dermaroller

  • with a special pen, automatically puncturing the skin at the depth specified by the operator.

The best choice is, of course, a professional device that ensures the optimal number of punctures, which has an impact on the effects of the treatment, it is also less painful than with a dermaroller.

Indications for microneedling:

  • wrinkles on the skin of the face, neck and cleavage

  • thin, dingy, poorly nourished skin

  • pigmentation

  • acne scars

  • stretch marks

  • cellulite

  • hair loss

  • ageing hand skin

What are the contraindications for microneedling?

  • pregnancy and lactation period

  • active herpes and other inflammations in the treatment area

  • different types of cancer

  • decompensated diabetes

  • allergy to formula ingredients

  • couperose skin

  • increased susceptibility to fibrosis and keloids

  • active acne and purulent processes

  • drugs that change blood clotting

Microneedling with Dermapen, how often can the treatment be performed? When are the effects of microneedling visible?

For the best results, we recommend a series of 4-6 dermapen mesotherapy treatments at intervals of 2-4 weeks. The first effects are noticeable about 2 weeks after the first treatment, and the final remodeling of the skin takes place up to 3 months after the end of the series of treatments.

Another recommended protocol is the alternation between a set of dermapen treatments and a set of needle mesotherapy or combining microneedling with BioRePeel.

Dermapen microneedling mesotherapy, what is the course of the treatment in our clinic?

We apply numbing cream to clean, disinfected skin to anesthetise the treatment area. Then the treatment area is cleansed again and using the dermapen device micropuncture are made. During this treatment we also apply specially designed serums that will go into the skin via micro-channels created by dermapen, to even more boost the treatment.

Pre-treatment advice:

  • Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.

  • Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.

  • Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

  • No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.

  • Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there’s dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment.

  • If you’re prone to cold sores, take antiviral tablets for 2 days prior to, the day of the treatment, and the day after.

  • Avoid blood thinning drugs for one week prior, because bruising is a common side effect of microneedling.

When can I return to my daily activities?

As long as you follow our post treatment recommendations you can return to your daily routines.

What does the skin look like after microneedling? What does it feel like after the dermapen treatment?

Microneedling is a quick and non-invasive cosmetic procedure with minimal side effects. However, it’s quite normal to experience the following:

Day 1-3

A sunburn-like effect is normal. Your skin may feel tight, dry or sensitive to touch. Treat the skin gently by washing it with a gentle cleanser, cool water, and using only your hands to pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment.

Some redness may also be present and in some cases, clients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days and temporary swelling for 2-4 days.

Tips

  • Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating as well as jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths for up to 48 hours.

  • Use only mineral makeup after 24 hours.

  • Sleep on your back with the head of the bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain as needed.

Day 2-7

Peeling may start 3-5 days after the treatment. You’ll notice skin dryness and flaking which is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. DO NOT pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin!

Important information: You must allow the old skin to flake off naturally and keep it moisturized at all times. Use sunscreen 30SPF minimum.

Day 5-7

You may start your regular skin care products again, once your skin no longer feels irritated. Your skin starts to glow! Most of our clients have noticed continued skin improvement over the months following their last treatment.

For best results: We recommend follow-up and repeat microneedling treatments every 2-4 weeks, with a series of 4-6 treatments depending on your personalised care plan.

What is the post treatment advice?

  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications for one week after the procedure.

  • Do not use ice on your face, and avoid using arnica/bromelain. These may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that’s critical for your skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. After 24 hours, always use sunblock (30 SPF or higher).
