CHEMICAL PEELS

If you want to improve the condition of your skin, in an effective and proven way we suggest Chemical Peels. They are also called chemical or dermatological acids because the most common exfoliating substances found in them are indeed acids, such as: Lactic, Salicylic, Glycolic, Citric etc.

Beauty Architect Aesthetics specialises in Advanced medical grade peels, that are the latest innovation in the aesthetics world. They have not only remove the outermost layer of skin, they also work on a deeper level where they biostimulate and revitalise the skin.

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. With a light or medium peel, you may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results.

Chemical peels are used to treat sun damage, fine lines, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, congestion and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures. And they can be done at different depths, from light to deep. Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take much longer to recover from.

The benefits of chemical peel:

Depending on the initial condition of the skin, rejuvenating, cleansing, regenerating, moisturizing, depigmentation anti-acne and acne scar reduction peels can be used.

The benefits obtained depend on choice of a particular mixture of acids, but in general we can achieve:

  • even skin tone

  • glowing, radiant, healthy appearance

  • reduced pores

  • nourished and oxygenated skin

  • improved microcirculation

  • reduced or removed superficial pigmentation

  • refreshed skin

  • improved skin's elasticity, tension and firmness

How does Chemical Peel work?

Chemical peels penetrate the skin and cause its outer layers to dissolve or peel off. They work by loosening the connections between skin cells.

This mechanism causes an impulse to stimulate skin's natural regenerative processes – increased rate of cell division of the epidermis.

Exfoliation of skin's outer layers allows the skin to get rid of excess sebum and dead cells. As a result, the sebaceous gland openings become narrower and the skin surface is smoothed.
Under the influence of exfoliating acids, a cascade of regenerative reactions is triggered, also in the dermis.

For example BioRepeelCl3 is a deep TCA peel that penetrates through the top five layers of the epidermis to the uppermost layers of the dermis. It is unique that it has minimal downtime and get back to day to day life immediately.

What is the treatment process?

Depending on the product used, the exact procedures differ from one another. However, the typical procedure is as follows:

1.  The first stage includes preparing the skin for the treatment by removing makeup and degreasing.

2. The second stage involves applying the formula to individual areas. After a specified amount of time, the chemical peel is neutralised with a special neutraliser which is then washed off with water. Not all acids require a neutraliser – for example, salicylic acid and TCA are removed with water. Sometimes it is necessary to apply several layers of peeling in one session.

3. The third stage involves calming the skin by using a SOS mask, and SPF.

Can the Chemical Peel treatment be carried out all year round?

Yes and no. Some of the latest peels, such as PRX T33 and BioRePeel CL3, can be performed all year round, .

However there are some aggressive peels that can only be performed in autumn and winter, as they make the skin very susceptible to sunburn. This increases the risk of collagen damage and the formation of new wrinkles and pigmentation spots.

How many treatments are recommended?

To achieve more spectacular effects, such as rejuvenating effects, reduction of pigmentation and scars, etc., you need to undergo more treatments (usually 4-6).

The number of treatments in a series depends on many factors:

  • formula used

  • the baseline skin condition

  • expected results

  • skin reaction to the formula.

One treatment can be used to refresh, cleanse and make the skin look healthier.

After an initial course 1 treatment a month is recommended for maintenance.

Are there any side effects?

After some products, immediately after the treatment, the skin may look (and feel) sunburnt, however it depends on the product used. Some, latest peels (eg. PRX-T33 and BioRePeel) do not cause skin peeling or dryness.

More details on each product below.

Can peel treatments be combined with other treatments?

Yes, some of them can. For example BioRepeelCl3, as well as being a highly efficient treatment for skin aging, acne and pigmentation, it is an ideal tool for optimising other medical aesthetic procedures such as; mesotherapy, botulinum toxin, and microneedling.

There is an additional protocol BioRepeelCl3 & microneedling to specifically target acne prone & acne scarring with unbelievable results.
